The AOC wants all members to enjoy visiting the website forum and the associated WhatsApp groups. We want you to enjoy posting, researching and reading about other group members’ exploits, along with the vast wealth of Allard-related information.
Forum:
The AOC provides the website as part of its aim to create a friendly and useful shared environment for Allard owners. There is a permanency to threads and information shared on the website forum. It will be backed-up, saved and is searchable.
WhatsApp/Facebook:
Social media platforms further enhance the Allard experience. WhatsApp, Facebook and other “chat” services are not something the AOC seeks to control or fully administer, but they will be monitored.
We expect members to be respectful of others and their opinions. Do your bit to ensure that all media posts are welcoming and inclusive for all.
Principles for the use of the AOC Forum and associated WhatsApp groups
• Be respectful of others, don’t argue with, berate or criticise anyone, either within AOC or outside;
• Stay on topic. Keep the conversion relevant to the group’s purpose and avoid sharing irrelevant messages;
• Be mindful of Time zones: be considerate of others and remember when sending messages these are world-wide groups;
• If you become overwhelmed by messages, find them irrelevant or irritating, please mute your WhatsApp or leave the group;
• Please limit one-on-one conversations that might get too lengthy for others. Instead, correspond on email or call them;
• Please verify your sources where possible, before sharing anything factual;
• Please do not stray into religious or political issues;
• Please do not use either group for monetary gain;
• Gentle banter, a little sarcasm, irony and the occasional sardonic or self-deprecating comment are encouraged and expected. Please be careful: Do not overdo it.
• Please do not use the WhatsApp groups for long drawn out posting. Such detail as engineering specs. or diagrams should ideally go on the AOC Forum, where they can be responded to more fully and will stay available for future review. WhatsApp remains current for a day or so, but after that much is forgotten or not looked at;
Please note:
• The admin team will remove any material which breaches acceptable behaviour on the AOC Forum and associated WhatsApp groups.
• The admin team will occasionally transfer WhatsApp conversation onto the AOC website Forum when we feel it’s relevant and worthwhile.
