The J2X, sold from 1952 to 1954, was basically a J2 with the front radius rods changed from leading to trailing, and the frame extended forward 6 in. to accommodate them. Wheelbase was unchanged at 100 in. The engine was also moved forward 7.5 in., adding cockpit space and improving handling. Most cars were ordered with the Cadillac and Chrysler engines, which could be tuned for up to 230 bhp and 330 lb-ft of torque. Including the Le Mans bodied cars, a total of 87 J2X were built.
