Neil, Further to my earlier posting, and having removed my J2X steering wheel, the steering wheel on that is actually solid/non taper with a clamp bolt thru the steering wheel boss.The prewar car has a solid taper/key with an end nut. Hopefully you will presented with no further alternatives! RM-E
