Well done David and others I cannot thank personally for getting the website up and kicking.

It may be useful to have recommended suppliers so here’s one to start. Wheel alignment, not just tracking.

I take my cars to WheelPower Ltd in London SE4 who have the high-tech video equipment that is clever, simple, fast and very precise.

I was just there having a check over of the Ballamy. They can adjust your tracking which is easy. But they also print out camber and caster, readings which are often miles away from ideal on Allards.

There you are on your own. Fixing those is more complicated, for camber it means changing the spring or bending the axles. For caster, have you ever seen the official Ford picture of how to twist axles with a ten-foot wrench and a big bloke on the end?

I went through all that years ago with the Ballamy and the L-type. Both are so much nicer to drive now, with reading closer to normal road cars not a trials set-up.

    Good luck growing the website.

Mark.  The plan is to have a section on the website for recommended suppliers. I will make sure it’s raised at next weeks committee meeting. Ron

Interesting Mark, I am taking my K1 to have its tracking measured and adjusted on Tuesday and would like to know what you have found to be the best toe in, camber and castor dims.

Toe in appears to be recommended at 3/16″ although I have seen 1/4″ also referred to.

    That’s super useful, thanks Mike.

I often have problems with my printer and images coming out at strange sizes so I’ve converted it into a PDF that you can find here:

It’s a “OneDrive” file, and it’s a PDF in case anyone is suspicious clicking a dodgy looking link.

A most interesting and useful set of posts; thanks to everyone who contributed. I love Dudley’s anecdote about the ‘Yorkshire Dunlop tracking adjuster’ .

    Tim.
