Thanks for the prompt, Ron. It looks like my attachment didn’t upload – perhaps due to low memory on my phone. I’ve tried putting an image up in the link above. Tim.

            <p style=”text-align: right;”>Hi, you Forum sages:
The wiper system on my Special is fairly ineffectual, the blades making incomplete contact with the screen at best, and really amounting merely to a ‘smear-spreading’ set-up when it’s raining.
I have a classic MG-type Lucas screen-mounted wiper motor, affixed to the lower screen frame thru 2 holes and with a middle 3rd hole for the wiper spindle. On my side, there’s an idler/spindle, and the wipers are connected via a rod whose threaded ends are attached to each wiper arm. This rod l got from somewhere like the ‘Complete Automobilist’.
My feeling is that the dubious screen contact might be a result of the lack of a u/joint at either end of the connecting rod, which because of angle change thruout the ‘sweep’, lifts the arm/blade away from the w/screen, thus preventing consistent contact.
But can anyone help, please, with comments and advice/pics of their own linkage set-up, which might get my wipers lying flat on, and clearing the screen properly? Pic of my assembly below. Tia, Tim. Wiper system</p>
