What a fantastic looking Allard, Ben. I really like the outrageous mods and hope to see more pics as the project progresses. It has some of the feel of the famous 1938 Paulin Bentley Corniche. So interesting.

Does anyone know of a person / company that might be able to (hopefully not to expensively) collect the Allard and move it from Totnes to Ilminster?

My current chap is having some builder issues and rather selfishly seems to think that having a roof on his house is a higher priority than me collecting my car!

I’m in Ilminster, just off the A303 between Taunton and Yeovil.

Just heard, I can collect the car next weekend, or the Monday after depending on logistics and the man with a flatbed.

                Hi Ben

Welcome to the world of Allards your P looks amazing you need to keep the roof chop that will turn so many heads at the club meetings, not sure you will win the concours though.

Looking forwards to meeting you and the car.

                All the best.

                Rick.

Definitely up for tuning it, if it looks like that then it needs to sound amazing and be fast too!  I love the idea of doing hill climbs in it / racing it.  When the time comes I’m sure I’ll be posting loads of questions about tuning etc. in the technical forum.

I think it looks a great chop. Let’s hope you can work with the layout started. I will be interested to see a full side on photo and photos from the rear, split rear window look good. Just needs a hot flathead.

It’s gorgeous isn’t it!  Having not collected it yet I’m just hoping I can fit into it and still see out of the front, otherwise it might need to be reverted / become topless.

Well that’s a mean looking beast. I love the chopped roof, narrowed front screen and rear end .

                        How interesting.

Any questions or problems you encounter I’m sure someone in the Club will be able to help you with.

Very interesting to learn of your website experience which I feel sure we could benefit from. This new Forum site is about to be formally announced and our honsec, David Moseley, is tasked with organising it’s development and launch so it might be best to chat with him and explain your web building and managing background in case he feels he might like to get you onboard with it.

                              All the best,

                                Hello from a new member!

Not sure if this is the right place to post this, but it seemed kind of social.

I’ve just bought a 1950 P1 from my father in law which hasn’t been on the road since hooligans set fire to the boot in the late 80’s.  It burnt out the back end which he rebuilt in a slightly modified manner at the time (a bit more like an M type, with Morris Minor rear wings), then left it sitting in a garage for about 30 years.

It last ran in 1995 / 1996 apparently so no idea what condition the engine will be in, and the body needs a fair bit doing too.  The front suspension has been lowered by a couple of inches and he chopped the roof too so it’s got a bit of a hot rod feel to it.

I have a million questions, so am really looking forward to chatting with everyone on here.

I’d also absolutely LOVE to be involved in the website side of things, since my background is as a web developer (up until maybe 8 years ago) and subsequently web project manager – so if there’s any legwork you want to palm off on me then please just ask.
