The J2 spearheaded the entry of the Allard Motor Co. into the North American market with the majority of the J2 and J2X production being sold there. Such cars were exported as complete cars less engines, with local dealers fitting the then current ohv Cadillac, Chrysler, Buick or Oldsmobile engines and transmissions. It was the stunning performances of these cars at Sebring, Watkins Glen and other circuits that contributed towards the rebirth of sports car racing in the USA.
